I want to thank you for the great job you did in selling my family's company. As you know, I went into this knowing very little about the process and it has been amazing to see all there is to selling a business.

Edward Kirik, President
Syntex Rubber Corporation
Thank you for helping me with the sale of my insurance agency. As you know, this was my first insurance agency that I started, and have built up over the past nine years.

Steve Hunt, President
Hunt Agency, Inc.
I want to thank you for your services in selling my business. As you know, it was relatively easy for you to identify the "right" buyer who was willing to pay the most for the business.

Joseph Hebert, President
Gazette Printing Company, Inc.
I would recommend Touchstone Advisors to anyone wishing to buy or sell a business. After discussing my needs and requirements, they explained exactly what they would do to sell my business.

William Russell, President
Mediquip, Inc.
You were practical and perceptive in assessing the merits of our partnership profile for, as it were publication and distribution to potential purchasers.

Dan Russell, Partner
Russell & Dawson Architecture & Engineering
Never having sold a business before, your attention to detail sure came in handy, not to mention the environmental problems no one could have foreseen. You steered us through every problem with ease and always made sure it was solved and corrected.

Nancy Sears, President
Best Buy Oil Co., Inc.
Touchstone Advisors helped us to purchase our second business. Without your help, I am sure that the sale would have never gone through. With Touchstone's guidance and suggestions we were able to come to a place that benefited both the seller and ourselves.

Paula Goodwin, Vice President
Abbey Printing Co.
Thank you for your work with us on acquiring the Hunt Agency. From our initial conversations and meetings, you have been a true professional to work with. We are very excited to have Steve Hunt as a producer, and look forward to developing a long term relationship with Steve.

Touchstone's Proven Acquisitions Search Services

Touchstone Advisors provides an acquisition search service for companies, private equity groups, and individuals that are looking to aquire a business or grow by acquisition.

Acquiring another company is the quickest and often the most inexpensive way to grow your own business.

The Touchstone Acquisition Process is an eight-step process that identifies, introduces, negotiates, and closes acquisitions. Here are the eight steps:

1. Develop Acquisition Criteria

First, we meet with the Buyer to understand exactly what the company is looking to accomplish with an acquisition. We discuss the strategic fit of an acquisition in terms of size, industry, functionality, location, and management bench strength.

2. Identify Target Companies

Next, we research the market, trade associations, and subscription, proprietary, and internet databases and resources to identify a preliminary list of acquisition targets.

3. Create and Clarify Value Proposition

Together, Touchstone Advisors and the Buyer create a compelling value proposition for the acquisition targets. The value proposition is presented to interested companies in the form of a marketing book that features:

  • The strengths and advantages of the acquirer;
  • The value the acquisition will bring to the combined companies;
  • The strategic fit;
  • Examples of pro-forma financials; and
  • The financial strength and financing ability of the acquirer.

4. Marketing Campaign

Touchstone prepares and implements a marketing campaign that includes: an effective direct mail campaign; follow-up phone calls to business owners that spell out the value proposition; and a follow-up letter from the firm.

Marketing campaigns also include select Internet channels, and communication with a broad database of industry and referral sources.

5. Meet with and Screen Target Companies

Touchstone meets with target companies that have been pre-qualified, and educates the potential seller as to the process. We further qualify the company, obtain necessary financial and operational information and documents, and set expectations as to price and terms.

6. Present Acquisition Options to Buyer

Touchstone sets up a set schedule of meetings with our client every two to four weeks for the period of our engagement. As Touchstone identifies qualified acquisition targets, we set up meetings between the decision makers to see if there is a cultural and personality fit between the companies.

7. Negotiate Price and Terms, Prepare Term Sheets and Letters of Intent

Touchstone works with the Buyer to negotiate and prepare term sheets and letters of intent. We can actually negotiate with several companies at once.

8. Due Diligence and Closing

Touchstone will assist with due diligence, and coordinate the due diligence and closing process.
